If, for example, you have a 2005 Focus Hatchback, you will notice that there are two possible towbars. The 1999 to 2005 shape and the 2005 to 2011 shape. The best way to work this out is to compare your vehicle to one a few years into either shape. So using a search engine to search for the vehicle and one of these years, in this example I would recommend 2001 and 2008, then view the available images. Compare your vehicle to the results and see which yours is most like. A common thing to check is the light clusters as these vary with most shape changes.
