For sale is my 2008 Renault Grand Scenic, 2.0l Diesel. This is the facelift model, so has LED tail lights and projector headlights. This car is the Dynamique S version, so has the following features. Keyless entry and start. Electronic centre console (with 12v port). As the 2.0l diesel, it pulls strongly, so can cope with larger loading and also benefits from a 6 speed gearbox. It gives very good MPG when on a run, with cruise control making that a breeze, and very acceptable around town, given the size of the car. In March i performed a service on the car as there was no documentation provided with it, so i wanted to be sure that it was serviced. Oil and oil filter. Fuel filter a tricky one to access! At Easter we had the water pump replaced as it had become a bit noisy, so as a precaution changed it and the auxiliary belt (fan belt in old speak)and of course the coolant. The screen washer pump was also taken apart and cleaned as the rear was blocked. As stated, the car runs really nicely, it is high mileage, but as there were only 2 owners before myself, it was clearly done on motorway use as the bodywork is in very good condition and the interior also is very tidy. The half leather seats feel nice and there is no wear, although the drivers seat could do with a good upholstery clean as a previous owner must have spilt a drink when on the commute. The carpet is worn through in the drivers footwell, which is covered by the mat, which for some reason i can’t locate, which is frustrating. Assume it as missing, but if i can find it before it sells, obviously i will put it in. The car has two negative points, both of which were there when i bought the car. One is that the automatic handbrake is faulty. If you read up about Scenics, you will see that it is a very common fault. It went through the last MOT in March fine, and judging by the previous MOT, that one too. So it is more of an annoyance, but certainly worth mentioning. The handbrake works absolutely fine as a manual handbrake, on and off as you would expect. The second is the mileage. That said, there is no untoward plumes of smoke, it was clearly well maintained in previous ownership and i have ensured that this is carried on. The body work is generally very tidy, and shines up really well. There are “car park” marks here and there, these should all be fairly clear in the pictures, but again, the price reflects this. There are no major dents or worry points. One fog light has cracked, as shown in the picture (it still works though). It has served us well, but a change in circumstances mean that we needed a smaller car as we weren’t using this for it’s full potential. As can be seen, it is an incredibly versatile car, with a large loading area. The middle seats can be fully removed with a flick of a lever so very large items can be transported. I would strongly suggest viewing the car, as your opinion may differ to mine. Any questions, please feel free to ask.
