Renault Megane Grand Scenic 1.6 2005 108024 miles Blue Alloys Towbar MOT expires July 2016. At last MOT all advisory notes were corrected except small oil leak and passenger seat is jammed moving front to back on the rails. New tyres x4 in last 6 months Service Oct 2015 and not due for another 10000 miles + Cam belt last changed 2014 so not due until 2019 Full service history I have owned it since 2010 Stereo is replaced with a sony one that has the advantage of more recent technology like USB interface and DAB radio. This does mean the steering wheel based controls for the stereo no longer operate. I understand they can if an additional part is fitted. It is a great car with kids as the extra 2 seats in the rear (pull up when required) are very useful. Independent garages unable to find cause and advised carry on until it is more apparent but it doesn’t seem any different. Next step might be Renault looking at it. Passenger seat noted above Rear passenger window won’t open Seats could do with a deeper clean Updated – A few have asked more about the oil leak. I was advised that it has a minor oil leak (I find I top it up maybe once between services and I sometimes see it on the driveway). I was told it is so slow that it bears no real impact. One garage suggested it could be a rubber part near the water tank that is, as rubber does, beginning to corrode. I was told that at the time there were more pressing priorities and it could wait with no problem and should be bottom of the list – I have done all the other necessary work that was reported to me in recent months. At the time I chose to replace 4 tyres and 2 track rod ends and some other minor work as advice from 2 garages has led me to believe it will wait. I have no reason to believe that there is anything else that needs to be rectified but of course a car is a car so it’s not a guarantee. Please note the actual mileage is the 108,024 stated but the clock shows 43634 as the LCD display was replaced and the memory of the odometer lost. I have paperwork from Renault for the job that shows the additional mileage prior to the work that brings the total to the 108024. Viewing is welcome but will depend on my availability.
